As egg producers, our unwavering mission is to provide high-quality eggs to Coloradans. As local farmers, we are part of the Colorado community and our focus is the safety and health of all Coloradans. As a part of the Colorado family, we feel it is our duty to be sure you are aware of the recent national voluntary egg recall. The recall was issued by an egg producer in Galt, Iowa - Wright County Farms - in response to a salmonella outbreak which unfortunately has affected some people in Colorado.

DENVER – March 2010 – The Easter Bunny will soon come hop, hop, hoping into your home and community. As Easter approaches, the Colorado Egg Producers (CEP) Association hopp-ily wants to remind Coloradans that just like there are a variety of ways to eat eggs, there are a variety of ways to decorate eggs.

CEP is a membership organization representing seven family farms throughout Colorado. CEP is committed to doing what’s right for its community, as illustrated by their regular donation of thousands of eggs to food banks throughout the state. Colorado egg farmers throughout Colorado pride themselves on providing eggs, a high quality, protein-dense food, to Coloradans. We are also proud to offer consumers the choice between cage, cage-free eggs, organic, nutrient enhanced, brown and white eggs.

Morning Fresh Farms

Douglas Brown and photographer Cyrus McCrimmon of the Denver Post visited Morning Fresh Farms to see first-hand how eggs are produced as a part of a series "Start to Finish".

Quoting Brown, "They are the most versatile of ingredients. A deviled egg is a little bomb of egginess: the creamed yolk, the rubbery white, every bite a wallop of egg. Other dishes — think chocolate-chip cookies — leverage eggs more for reasons of science than flavor."

March 17, 2010 was National Agriculture Day and the Colorado Egg Producers along with other farm groups were at the Capitol to serve lunch and present the Food Bank of the Rockies with a check for $51,000. Check out the video at
