Parmesan Date Pastries

We’re not trying to steal the show here, but your Easter ham won’t be the only thing that your guests will be eyeing this weekend! These parmesan date pastries have subtle nutty and caramel notes that make this unusual date/egg combination unbeatable.

1 sheet puff pastry, thawed

4 eggs

¼ cup heavy cream

5-6 large dates, pitted and sliced thin

1 cup parmesan cheese, finely grated

¼ cup finely chopped chives

4 crème brulé dishes

Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Grease your 4 dishes with cooking spray. Cut your puff pasty into 4 even squares and put one square in each dish. Place 5-6 sliced dates into each pastry. Then divide the chives and parmesan evenly into each dish. Whisk the eggs, cream and a pinch of salt together. Separate egg mixture into each dish. Fold over the four corners of the pastry and brush top of pastry with egg wash. Place dishes on a baking sheet and bake for 25-30 minutes until the egg is set. Let cool, then remove from dishes.
